Enthusiastic, soulful and obstinate would probably best describe Janina, a Berlin born and based DJ, and above all a pillar of the German electronic underground scene for more than ten years.
After dropping out school and having bought her first turntables in her early years, Janina built a deep knowledge of electronic music and developed a keen interest in vinyl, while working at the renowned DNS Record Store. It was obvious to her that she will devote her time and energy to music when she found out about the BeatStreet parties and received her first Perlon records. Janina has first been acknowledged for her active residency at Club der Visionäre.
Over the time, she developed an impressive sharp ear, peerless technical skills and an asserted signature, despite continuously evolving music tastes. She plays frequently at Panorama Bar, and got well-known for her endless and soulful sets at Ibiza Underground, Ushuaia, Watergate, Rex, Monasterio and Katapult parties. She had not only shared the decks with Fumiya Tanaka, Dandy Jack, Cassy, Luciano and Carl Craig among others, but is also a resident of Monasterio Club in Moscow, one of the capital’s major nightclubs. Passionate and constantly willing to improve the electronic landscape, Janina is now focusing on a new techno project, under the name “JSR”. Having drawn unlimited inspiration from Underground Resistance pioneers, to legend Robert Hood and Cari Lekebush. Rumour had it that there might be a record label behind Janina’s darkened techno side.
